4.6 Processes in place for the highest governance body to ensure conflicts of interest are avoided
The Code of Business Ethics, a high-level document in company hierarchy which guides the actions of all workers, directs us in our behaviors regarding transparency, probity, conflicts of interest, information management, as well as contributions and donations for political purposes among other aspects.

In turn, our policy of Business Ethics sets out Codelco’s commitment to maintain relationships based on the highest standards of business ethics, honesty, transparency and fairness, ensuring objectivity in the process of buying and hiring of goods and services.

In addition, there are authorities, both internal to the Corporation as well as external to it, which are responsible for developing, evaluating, or overseeing our business processes. Together, these authorities guarantee that the development of any business is undertaken in a transparent manner, on the basis of established procedures.


Our clients have a say
We take care to comply with our clients’ requirements, which is why we have standardized marketing services processes through quality management systems and a platform for information and commercial product sales management contracts. Through them we monitor compliance with regulations, as well as the safety and privacy of our clients.

(PR5) Practices related to customer satisfaction, including results of surveys measuring. customer satisfaction (R) Each year we carry out customer surveys regarding the quality of our products and marketing service. In 2011, the survey was sent to clients in Asia, North America, South America and Europe, so as to know the level of customer satisfaction and their requirements, as well as determining the existence of gaps, and establishing plans to improve the service and quality of cathodes.

Regarding the quality of service, most clients recognized an improvement over 2010, however, there remains a need for better timeliness, updating, and precision of the information regarding each load sent by Codelco. Regarding product quality, a general improvement for most of the Codelco brands is also noted when compared to 2010.
