Online environmental commitments
In 2011, Codelco was the first company to
publish its environmental commitments in
the Environmental Commitments System
portal, created that year by the Superintendency
of Environment. The site is a virtual
library in which companies can voluntarily
disclose the environmental commitments
they acquired with the Environmental Assessment
Service of the Ministry of Environment.
This system allows closer monitoring,
because it organizes and systematizes information
and gives a greater transparency
to the processes. Anybody who wishes to
consult the portal can access this information.
