Expected impacts

  • Achieve significant emissions control at one of the predominant sources of MP10 in our operations.
  • Incorporate new suppressor products, more efficient techniques, and economically viable solutions through innovation.
  • Incorporate state-of-the-art technology for the measurement of efficiencies and emissions on mine pit roads.

Proposed solutions

  • Use high efficiency dust suppressors.
  • Perform the in-line measurement of MP10.
  • Implement forecasting and warning systems when considering adverse weather conditions.
  • Standardize and operationally manage MP10 emissions in the mine pit via C+.

PILOTING OF HIGH EFFICIENCY DUST SUPPRESSORS ON MINE PIT ROADS

Industrial piloting program of suppressors in pit and haulage roads. This program is currently ready to start piloting in DCH and is in the pilot planning stage in DRT. For its part, DAND is assessing suppressor scaling for use across the entire mine network.

PREPARATION OF A CORPORATE PROTOCOL FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF EMISSION CONTROL EFFICIENCY ON MINE ROADS

A corporate protocol is being developed to standardize the measurement of efficiency on mine pit roads throughout all operations. This protocol will be available in December 2022.
